"This painting alludes to deep and difficult feelings. It's not uncommon to feel distant from God or to struggle with motivation and emotional strain, especially as a Yr12 student when there seems to be no time for consistent quiet time with God. No time to reconnect and find renewal. My artwork speaks to those quiet moments were I can seek solace, gain perspective, and find strength to face our challenges. God is always there, even in my most LAZY moments; GOD renews me and gives me strength. This spiritual renewal can help centre my thoughts and emotions. This artwork reminds me that it’s okay to take small steps and be gentle with myself. Each small act of self-care can also be a spiritual act which for me contributes to a greater sense of peace and purpose. “The Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need. “He lets me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters. He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” Psalms 23:1-3"
We are also very excited to announce that Laura Graetz (Year 12) and Noah Giffin (Year 8) both have been nominated for the People’s Choice Award which will be announced 1 December 2024.
